Grunnsonic is a free showcase festival of Groningen-based musical talent, that takes place during ESNS.

Grunnsonic, a joint initiative between ESNS and POPgroningen, offers Groningen-based talent the chance to present themselves during the gigantic happening that is ESNS. Being a free event, Grunnsonic gives music lovers, who don't have an ESNS ticket or want to enjoy even more music, the opportunity to significantly upgrade their week. ESNS and POPgroningen allow local acts to present themselves to the general public and the music professionals present at ESNS. In 2026, Grunnsonic will take place from January 14th until January 16th at Het Pakhuis, Warhol, Het Concerthuis, KLUP DE DAG and Grote Markt.
